OCEAN MEETS ARTIST : et.

A young firecracker, Ethan Thomas, aged 18 from Toronto, shows us he’s got what it takes to
stand out. His début EP, Child Mentality goes into deep personal detail on a hard time in his life.
His soft voice glosses over his trials with life and love that we can definitely all relate to. We
spoke with him about his music, bubble tea and the Toronto music scene.
Going through a rough first year in university, Ethan turned to writing and poured out his
feelings, which then transferred into music.
Although sharing something so personal in the world seems, well, terrifying, Ethan explains it
was all about honesty. He shared his own hurt and pain and unintentionally twisted it into
something that could resonate with a lot of people.
When it comes to the music scene in Toronto, his views are pretty neutral. He wants the city to
venture out of their usual sound and expand into different venues.
More of a homebody himself, he spends most of his time in his basement or at Chatime for a
little bubble tea break and is unsure but hopeful about his future in music. With a focus on
growing, he shares with us that he just wants to see how things play out.
With a true passion for the art and the talent to match, Ethan Thomas gives us a healing
soundtrack to heartbreak and although we wish to avoid crying over them, we hope Ethan
keeps providing tracks for our most difficult times.
